While grout and tile cleaning may seem like an easy undertaking, it’s actually quite cumbersome and is often best left to the professionals, such as, The Grout Medic.
Failure to properly remove all the dust, dirt and grime from your tiled surfaces with a broom will only result in you mopping around the dust, dirt, and grime. Make sure to use a broom or even a towel to collect all the loose dirt first. Next, ensure you’re NOT scrubbing any of the tiled areas with bleach or ammonia products. Chemical cleaners, such as, Tilex, Soft Scrub, Scrubbing Bubbles, or ammonia products will nearly always result in your tile surfaces’ grout becoming very discolored. If you do choose to utilize a cleaner, make sure that it’s neutral in pH level to ensure it doesn’t damage your grout.
We recommend cleaning your tiled surfaces at least every one to two weeks. Furthermore, as mentioned previously, we recommend utilizing a neutral pH cleaner, as to avoid damaging your grout. Failure to properly clean your tiled surfaces will most certainly cause your grout’s appearance to suffer. As a byproduct of your grout’s unsightly appearance, your entire tiled area’s appearance will suffer. So, if you’re noticing mold and mildew accumulating on your tiled surface, please do not attempt to scrub it off. Mold or mildew growth is actually a great indicator that it’s time for your tiled surface to be regrouted.
